Throughout my career, I've worn many hats: I started out as a 3D animator, and from there I bounced around a lot. I’ve done 2D animation, concept art, storyboarding, UI, and VFX, to name a few. On one project, I spent 18 months painting shiny gems and got really good at it. Over time, I've shifted my skills in a more technical direction, where I now spend a majority of my time writing tools and plugins for artists. Since 2020 I've been happily employed by Roblox, where I spend a lot of time building and coding Roblox experiences for super-secret internal projects.
As an artistic leader, I have often found myself on the ground floor of a new project. I have an entrepreneurial mindset and have spent most of my career in a startup environment. Two of the game studios I co-founded ended up as an acquisition. Through it all, I’ve developed a good sense for the types of creative decisions that can make or break a project.
There’s a joke that I like. “What’s the difference between an artist and a large pizza? A large pizza can feed a family of four.” Since 2005, I’ve been proud to consider myself a "large pizza" artist. I am very fortunate have made a living by making art.
